何を使い果たす？

to run out

 

「（資金や資源など）を使い果たす/切らす」「（期限などが）切れる/終わる」などの意味を持つフレーズ、to run out。何かを切らすと言いたいときは、この後にofと特定するモノの名称（名詞）を置けばOK。

例えば、「コピー用紙を切らしている」であれば、

We are running out of copy paper.  /  Copy paper is running out.

【例】TALKING ON THE PHONE

Sandy:  Hi, Tim?  Can you stop by at ABC store on the way back home? 

Tim:　  No problem.  What do you need?

Sandy:  Well, we're running out of milk, so can you get 2 cartons?

Tim:      OK.  What else?

Sandy:  Um...  I'm in a mood for something sweet.

Tim:      Ice cream?

Sandy:  Great idea.  

Tim:      All right.  I'm be home at around 7:00, OK?

Sandy:  Yeah.  Thanks, hon.
